Requirements for installation of Fire Sprinkler: From NFPA tables according to hazard We get four important notes which used in our design. Maximum spacing between two sprinkler,Minimum spacing between two sprinkler,Maximum spacing between sprinkler and wall,Minimum spacing between sprinkler and wall.
Requirements for installation of Fire Sprinklers
What is the requirements for installation of Fire sprinkler ?
- Maximum spacing between two sprinkler equal to (4.6 m).
- Minimum spacing between two sprinkler equal to (1.8m)
- Maximum spacing between sprinkler and wall equal to ( Half of the space between two sprinkler )=(4.6/2 = 2.3 m).
- Minimum spacing between sprinkler and wall equal to 10..2 cm.for easy maintenance.

Sprinkler distribution light hazard .at density =.1 gpm/ft^2
- Area of sprinklers operation =1500 ft^2
- Protection area per sprinkler = 225 ft^2
- Number of working sprinklers = 1500/225 = 6.666 = 7 sprinklers
Sprinkler distribution ordinary hazard at density = .15 gpm/ft^2
- Area of sprinklers operation =1500 ft^2
- Protection area per sprinkler =130ft^2
- Number of working sprinklers=1500/130 =12 sprinklers
Return bend
- To prevent sediment buildup, return bends shall be installed in all shipboard sprinkler systems where pendent-type or dry pendent -Type sprinklers are used in wet systems.
- Consideration shall be given concerning the intrusion of saltwater into the system.
- Specifically, sprinklers shall not be rendered ineffective by corrosion related to saltwater entrapment within the return bend.
